Damsel Borger Designs
Posted on March 23, 2010, 9:37 am, by Gary Borger, under Damsel Borger Designs, Fly Tying, Realistic Flies.
My friend Marcelo Malventano from Argentina is a most creative and skilled fly tyer, producing both highly artistic, realistic designs, as well as fishing patterns. He has honored me by designing both a realistic art piece of an emerging damsel fly (called a teneral), and a damsel nymph that is built for fishing. Thank you so much Marcelo for your brilliant efforts, and for thinking of me in the crafting and naming of these great flies. For more on Marcelo’s work, click on his link to the right.

There are realistic flies and then there are realistic flies. Marcelo Malventano makes the realistic, realistic version. You need to see these flies! Go his site La esencia del Atado for a real eye opening experience.
A rather realistic stonefly, wouldn't you say? Tied by Marcelo Malventano
Hi Marcelo, your flies are more than realistic, they are super-realistic. You have an amazing ability to capture not only the anatomical features but the life-like quality of the insect. Amazing. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
My best,
Gary
